Bengston Method - experiences, problems & flaws
Practical experience with the Bengston method
Through my work as a self-healing Mentor, I have collected a lot of practical experience with various visualization techniques. I tried both known and unknown methods, including the methodologies of Neville Goddard, Win Wenger, Raymond Hull, Gerald Epstein, Lynne McTaggart, Govinda, Shakti, etc.
With over 2000 hours of practical experience, I have by far the most experience in the Bengston Energy Healing. Over the years, a multitude of notes, observations, and insights accumulated. The essence of these findings is summarized in the following text.
William Bengston, the inventor of the method of the same name, always says: “Be playful and non-dogmatic”.
I have embraced this creed, consciously deviating from the prescribed path here and there, experimenting and researching. Naturally, I have attentively observed how my clients respond to small changes. This abundant feedback from practice, both in quantity and quality, has encouraged me to break the somewhat narrow boundaries of the Bengston Method. The goal was to retain the valuable aspects while abandoning the restrictive elements.
Below, I outline what I perceive to be the central weaknesses of the Bengston Energy healing Method and the attempts I have made to transform or overcome them.
Why Bengstons animal experients are not relevant to humans
The well-known trademark of the Bengston method is that it has achieved very high cure rates in cancer mice in the laboratory. Unfortunately, the general practice (mine and that of other users of the method worldwide) shows that this over 90% success rate is not transferable to humans.
William Bengston has not been treating people for many years. From the beginning, I wondered why? On the one hand, he could help many affected individuals, and on the other hand, it would certainly not be to his financial detriment. He repeatedly states that he perceives dealing with people as "annoying." Unlike mice, humans do not (mentally) live in the past, have poor diets, or try out dozens of therapeutic measures simultaneously. According to Bengston, due to the much higher complexity of a human disease situation, the mouse model cannot be directly applied to humans.
From my perspective, the reason lies elsewhere. While mice are injected with fast-growing cancer cells from one moment to another, in humans, the disease usually develops over years, almost always due to suboptimal life circumstances. In my latest book, "So Healing Can Still Succeed," I have worked out why I believe the body consciously and intentionally brings about a cancer event.
Although we use the term "cancer" for both mice and humans, they have little in common. This, in my view, is a crucial point because the origin of a disease is highly significant for healing.
In the case of mice, the situation is as follows: a fundamentally healthy animal is willfully and abruptly grossly violated, then suddenly receives human attention over the period of a few days. The fact that human attention is something completely new and unique for mice, I consider important.
In humans, the tumor is allowed or (as I believe) even produced by the body itself. The diagnosis increases stress levels for the affected person additionally. Instead of compassion, one often receives pity. The individual feels isolated from the world of the healthy.
Unlike with Bengston mice, there is no 100 times larger creature suddenly turning its attention to us humans.
The driving force behind the healing effects
The above finding does not, however, diminish Bengstons success with the lab mice. But what is the mysterious power that a healing process is often so highly favored? After the year-long study of the various methods of energy healing (as in this and other publications documented), I had, etc. one day Aha effect: Could it be that all of the laying on of these techniques, whether it be Reiki, the power of 8, traditional hand, Therapeutic Touch nothing more than rituals for a simple, basic human process: someone cares compassionate to one another, with the Intention that it may make him better?
Could it be that it is the Compassion selbst ist, welches die Heileffekte „hervorruft“? Immerhin weiß man von Babies: wenn sie zwar ernährt, aber nicht mitfühlend behandelt werden, sterben sie! Haben wir nicht alle einen Mangel an mitfühlender Zuneigung?
In addition, my Thesis that the therapeutic effects are due to the compassion would enlighten the Enigma of Bengstons healed control mice. In the Moment, in which a healer got the control mice to the face, and took to himself home, he was met by the intimate (compassionate) wish for them to learn about the healing.
Also, the phenomenon of the treatment, prospective, benign ulcers could be so conclusive to explain. Bengston noted that benign tumors in mice by its method does not affect. He still regarded as a mystery. But you can see the compassion as the essential, and, ultimately, effective power, it is only logical. As someone who is affected by a more or less harmolsen ulcer, it does not need the same Level of compassion as someone who is in a life-threatening situation.
Compassionate Self-Treatment
With the compassion as a driving force is possible, what is impossible in the Bengston method categorically: namely, that of self-treatment. Almost all people have a deficit to meet self-compassionate, to pay attention to their own inner feelings and needs.
In addition, moderation is the “Self” known to be quite complex. I could deal with, for example, my wounded inner child, an instance of my mental body, the inner Saboteur, or a single Organ.
I am aware that voices could now arise saying, "Hagler is adding his own hocus-pocus to Bengston's." But to those voices, I would respond: How about testing the role of compassion with a very simple experiment that you can do at home?
Plant a type of seed in two different containers, Pot A and Pot B. Place both in the same location and water them daily with the same amount of water. The difference is that you "speak" to Pot A three times a day for one minute each time with benevolent wishes—feel free to do this only in your thoughts. If you like, enclose the pot with your hands during this time. After a few days, you will notice that the seedlings grow at different rates.
An Alternative to this attempt, the banana Experiment would be. You are buying a wreath banana should be unripe (green) as possible. You remove the two pieces and store them in the following days in the same place, preferably where you don't of roommates or eaten to be discovered. One of the two bananas a day for 10 minutes in their hands, and inform the compassionate desire in this, that they may rot. After you have performed this procedure for about 20 days, you will notice that the two bananas, in fact, different “aging”. During the bursts, a, and spoils, “lignified” the banana, which they held in their hands.
Other weak points of the Bengston method
The Wish List
Bengston recommends to the practitioner to write purely egocentric wishes on a list and then rotate them as individual images. My explanation for the effectiveness of this procedure is as follows: By imagining that all these wishes have already been fulfilled, one automatically enters a "high vibration." One doesn't even need to think about energy; just from the emotional baseline, you feel "elevated."
A compassionate wish for the recipient sent from such a high emotional baseline has a completely different intensity. From my perspective, a treatment is even more successful the more carefree and joyful the sender is. The wish list and the felt fulfillment of these wishes cause the "healer" to send from a good emotional level.
Now, onto the recipient: according to William Bengston, the recipient should also find at least 20 wishes and rotate them. However, here is the problem: a person with a serious illness may struggle to create a meaningful list of 20 wishes.
Ask a drowning person for their 20 favorite things in that moment, and you will likely receive a negative reaction. But if I phrase it like this: "Why is it worth continuing, and what does your life look like when the pendulum swings back towards balance and harmony?"
Then begins a search for truly meaningful aspects of life. And, in my opinion, these don't have to be 20. Sometimes, one single but very intense intention is enough. An important innovation—and expansion of the Bengston Method—is therefore the process of finding images. From now on, there is a process that supports finding truly meaningful aspects of life. Compelling reasons why I want to keep going.
Negative Emotions
According To Bengston it doesn't matter whether you evoke a positive or negative emotion during the treatment. I have found that it is impossible to view desired images and be in a negative state simultaneously. On the contrary, as soon as I go through my wish list, I am naturally filled with joy.
This even works when I am experiencing something unpleasant externally, for example, when the dentist is injecting into my lower jaw. As soon as I start the flow of images in that moment, the tension diminishes, and a mentally created counterpoint to the sensory impression signaling pain (= danger) emerges.
Focus
During the "treatments" that take place in Bengston's seminars and sometimes in private cycling groups, a continuous loop of images of sick individuals is shown, with each person visible for only 1 to 2 seconds. I have always perceived this more as disturbing than constructive because it is indeed impossible to focus compassionately on someone in such a brief time. However, according to Bengston, that is not the goal at all. In his publications, Bengston repeatedly talks about how he engages in conversations with his clients, listens to music, reads, or engages in another activity that distracts from the cycling (as he calls his visualization technique).
I found out quite quickly, after a short period of application, that my successes correlate with how much compassion I invested. Naturally, I was keen to learn about the experiences of other "healers." Even after extensive research in worldwide Bengston forums, I couldn't find a person who had been on such an image reel and experienced healing. Reports from individuals who underwent individual treatment with the Bengston Method and then experienced improvement are also not available online. In this context, it is interesting that all forums for the Bengston Method worldwide were closed by the end of 2022, even the one on Bengston's homepage.
Visualizing good things for others
In a Bengston treatment, the healer rotates a list consisting of wishes for themselves. It is expressly emphasized that this wish list should be primarily composed from a selfish perspective. I deliberately broke this rule as well and designed the visualization in a way that includes about 50% positive images for the recipient.
Such an image could be, for example, to Express that the receiver gets in a consultation with the doctor and told that his chronic illness is on the retreat, it is located on the path of healing. Or it could show how the receiver rests as a transformed Person, full of vitality and wisdom, and thus observed the sunset.
Subtle visualizations can also be extremely helpful. I describe what these consist of and how I implement them in practice together with a recipient in the follow-up article to this one. I've received excellent feedback on this. And it comes immediately after the session, not just after weeks.
Once I have focused intensely and from the heart on the recipient during my energetic treatments, this has been positively acknowledged by my clients. These subjective feelings of improvement were subsequently often confirmed by conventional medical examinations.
I would like to mention in this context that, from my perspective, energy healing modalities are only a part of a comprehensive self-healing program.
Bengstons recent research
What I find regrettable in the context of the above is that Bengston has turned away more and more from the theme of compassion in recent years. In a Medium Article from the year 2016, someone reported the following from a Bengston Workshop:
“For the Bill (is meant Prof. William Bengston) is healing love. Bill points out that we heal better in pairs, or in a resonant bond. Two people in love, to heal – not with the power of two, but with the power of seven. And he studies. Do not forget that we have here to do with a scientist. A skeptical, pragmatic, not to mention humorous scientists, proves quite by accident, the Power of love.”
Exactly what the article expresses, I also found fascinating about the Bengston Method. But what has become of these wonderful approaches? While he used to sometimes publicly speculate about the role of the "L-word" ("L" standing for Love), his recent research has focused solely on one direction: capturing healing energy once and then multiplying it in the form of a tone that can be played back at any time.
Water or cotton is exposed to this sound and then sold as healing media. The human-to-human connection is completely severed—isn't this already very familiar to us? Is this what a sick person truly longs for? Some water that was exposed to a special sound and then mechanically reproduced?
Bengston played the healing tone for me back in 2019. By the way, you don't hear anything because the tone vibrates outside the audible frequency range for humans. Even then, I found it strange that healing should be initiated in this way, although at that time I didn't yet know what was "missing."
And if Bengston's recording did have an effect, would this healing effect be better than what was demonstrated through the exposure to classical music? My perspective is this: if you want to influence the material with the material, turn to traditional medicine or allopathic medicine. If you also want to promote healing energetically, use THE human superpower: compassion.
The Buddhist tradition has emphasized this for 2500 years. Based on the above insights, I have been practicing a method for quite some time that now has only a few points of contact with Bengston.
In the new variant, I have expanded on what I consider the essential force, without forsaking the underlying process that has proven successful in numerous studies around the Bengston Method.
Conclusion
You can already see that I have variably modified, expanded, and consciously broken the rather rigid rules of the Bengston Method. What emerged, based on my personal practical experiences, seems to be more efficient than William Bengston describes in the original form of his healing method. Building on these insights and experiences, I am now practicing something that, for me, represents a further development.
I like to call this evolution Karuna Vortex Healing.
In this Article regarding Energy Healing I will show you how you can quickly work with the Karuna Vortex Idea.
